Terms Of Use
1. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Dragstrip Designs Marketing Inc., the operator of 24-7 MediaDesk. By accessing or using the Service, creating an account, receiving news alerts, or using a custom RSS feed, you agree to these Terms and the MediaDesk Privacy Policy.
If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The MediaDesk Service
MediaDesk is a newsroom resource that provides access to press releases, editorial summaries, search and category tools, saved-news features, news alerts, daily briefings, and custom RSS feeds. Features may vary by account status, location, device, and availability.
MediaDesk is part of 24-7 Press Release and is operated by Dragstrip Designs Marketing Inc., with its head office in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
3. Eligibility and Intended Users
The Service is intended primarily for journalists, editors, publishers, researchers, communications professionals, and other users seeking legitimate news and press-release information. You must be at least 16 years old and legally capable of entering into these Terms.
4. Accounts and Security
- Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.
- Keep your password and login credentials confidential.
- Do not share an account in a way that defeats security, access limits, or individualized feed settings.
- Promptly update your information when it changes.
- Notify us through the Support Page if you suspect unauthorized access or misuse.
You are responsible for activity conducted through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable security measures. We may require password resets, additional verification, or temporary suspension to protect the Service or users.
5. Permitted Use
Subject to these Terms, MediaDesk grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the Service for lawful editorial, journalistic, research, monitoring, internal business, and professional purposes.
You may:
- browse, search, filter, and review available press releases and editorial summaries;
- save stories within your account for later review;
- receive requested news alerts and daily briefings;
- create and use a personal custom RSS feed in standard RSS readers and news aggregation tools;
- quote limited portions of content for lawful editorial purposes with appropriate attribution; and
- link to MediaDesk pages or original press-release pages, subject to these Terms.
6. Press Releases and Third-Party Content
Press releases are supplied by third parties, including companies, organizations, agencies, and individuals. Submitters are responsible for the accuracy, legality, rights, and substantiation of their releases. Publication or availability on MediaDesk does not mean that MediaDesk or Dragstrip Designs Marketing Inc. endorses, verifies, recommends, or guarantees the content, the submitter, or any product, service, investment, claim, or event described.
Press releases may contain opinions, forecasts, promotional statements, links, images, trademarks, financial information, medical information, or other claims. You are responsible for independent verification and appropriate editorial review before relying on, republishing, or acting on any information.
7. Editorial Summaries and Automated Content
MediaDesk may provide editorial briefs, abstracts, digests, headlines, topic classifications, or other summaries. These materials may be created or assisted by editors, automated systems, artificial intelligence, or a combination of methods.
- Summaries are intended to help users quickly understand source material and may omit details, context, qualifications, or nuance.
- Automated systems may produce errors, misclassifications, incomplete statements, or wording that does not fully reflect the original source.
- The original press release or source material should be reviewed before publication, quotation, reliance, or decision-making.
- Editorial summaries do not constitute legal, medical, financial, investment, tax, or professional advice.
We may correct, replace, update, or remove summaries at any time without notice.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 MediaDesk Materials
The Service, its design, software, databases, organization, interfaces, logos, trademarks, editorial summaries, and original site materials are owned by or licensed to Dragstrip Designs Marketing Inc. and are protected by intellectual-property laws.
8.2 Third-Party Materials
Press releases, photographs, logos, videos, trademarks, and other third-party materials remain subject to the rights of their respective owners. Availability through MediaDesk does not transfer ownership or grant broader reuse rights than those provided by the owner or applicable law.
8.3 Feedback
If you provide suggestions or feedback, you grant us a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use and incorporate that feedback without obligation or compensation, provided we do not publicly identify you without permission.
9. RSS Feed Licence and Restrictions
Your custom RSS feed is provided for your personal or internal professional use in an RSS reader or news aggregation tool. The feed URL may be unique to your account and should be kept private.
Unless we give written permission, you may not:
- publish, syndicate, resell, sublicense, redistribute, or publicly display the full feed as a competing news service;
- share a private feed URL publicly or use one account to provide feed access to unrelated third parties;
- use the feed to build, train, benchmark, or enrich a commercial database, large language model, machine-learning system, or competing product;
- remove attribution, links, rights notices, or technical controls;
- request, crawl, or refresh feeds at a rate that creates unreasonable load; or
- circumvent feed limits, account restrictions, security measures, or access controls.
We may apply reasonable rate limits, suspend feed access, regenerate a feed URL, or change feed formats to protect performance, security, licensing, or service integrity.
10. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Conduct
You must not use the Service to:
- violate any law, regulation, court order, third-party right, or these Terms;
- access another person's account or private feed without authorization;
- scrape, harvest, copy, download, or index substantial portions of the Service through automated means without written permission;
- use bots, scripts, crawlers, or automated queries that exceed documented or reasonable usage;
- interfere with, overload, disrupt, reverse engineer, probe, test, or bypass security or technical controls;
- introduce malware, malicious code, harmful files, or deceptive links;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent affiliation, authority, or source;
- use content to create misleading, defamatory, infringing, unlawful, or deceptive publications;
- sell account access, feed access, or substantial collections of MediaDesk content; or
- use the Service to develop or operate a directly competing press-release aggregation, editorial-summary, monitoring, or syndication service without written authorization.
11. Copyright and Rights Complaints
We respect intellectual-property rights. If you believe content available through MediaDesk infringes copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or another right, submit a detailed notice through the Support Page. Include:
- your name and authority to act for the rights holder;
- identification of the protected work or right;
- the exact MediaDesk URL and content at issue;
- a description of the alleged infringement;
- a statement that the information is accurate and submitted in good faith; and
- any supporting documentation reasonably needed to assess the request.
We may remove or restrict access to disputed content while reviewing a complaint. We may also refer the complaint to the original press-release submitter or relevant content provider.
12. Corrections, Updates, and Removal
Press releases and editorial materials may be corrected, updated, replaced, archived, or removed. Distribution partners and third-party websites may retain earlier versions, and we cannot guarantee that corrections or removals will propagate to external sites, search engines, caches, archives, or third-party databases.
13. Saved News, Alerts, and Availability
Saved stories, alerts, preferences, and feeds are convenience features and are not permanent storage or archival services. Content may become unavailable due to expiration, removal, rights issues, system changes, or third-party actions. You should keep your own records of anything important.
Delivery times for news alerts and daily briefings are estimates. Messages may be delayed, filtered, duplicated, or not delivered because of technical issues, email-provider rules, outages, or account settings.
14. Third-Party Links and Services
MediaDesk may link to original releases, company websites, social platforms, RSS readers, advertisements, and other third-party services. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, terms, privacy practices, products, or transactions. Access is at your own risk.
15. No Professional Advice
MediaDesk is an information and newsroom resource. Nothing on the Service is legal, medical, financial, investment, tax, accounting, safety, regulatory, or other professional advice. Consult an appropriately qualified professional and independently verify source material before making decisions.
16. Service Changes, Suspension, and Termination
We may add, modify, restrict, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account or feed if we reasonably believe there has been a violation of these Terms, security risk, misuse, legal requirement, non-payment for a future paid service, or threat to other users or the Service.
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion through the Support Page. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue, including intellectual-property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, and dispute provisions.
17. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DISCLAIM ALL REPRESENTATIONS, WARRANTIES, AND CONDITIONS, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, NON-INFRINGEMENT, QUIET ENJOYMENT, SECURITY, AVAILABILITY, AND RESULTS.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, current, or free of harmful components, or that any content, feed, alert, summary, search result, or third-party link will be accurate, complete, suitable, or available.
18. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DRAGSTRIP DESIGNS MARKETING INC., 24-7 PRESS RELEASE, AND THEIR DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, OR REPUTATION, OR FOR THE COST OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID DIRECTLY FOR THE MEDIA DESK SERVICE DURING THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED CANADIAN DOLLARS (CAD $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations. In those jurisdictions, the limitations apply only to the extent permitted by law.
19. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Dragstrip Designs Marketing Inc., 24-7 Press Release, and their directors, officers, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, infringement of third-party rights, unlawful republication, or content you submit through the Service.
20. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including internet or cloud-service failures, cyberattacks, power outages, natural disasters, labour disputes, government action, war, terrorism, civil unrest, epidemics, telecommunications failures, or failures of third-party providers.
21. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms and disputes arising from them are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Unless applicable consumer law requires otherwise, you agree that the courts located in Vancouver, British Columbia will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms. Before commencing formal proceedings, the parties will attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute through the Support Page and reasonable direct discussion.
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, legal requirements, security practices, or business operations. The revised Terms will be posted with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the Service or your account. By continuing to use the Service after the revised Terms take effect, you agree to the updated Terms.

- Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them in connection with a reorganization, financing, merger, sale, or transfer of the Service or business.
- No agency: These Terms do not create a partnership, joint venture, employment, franchise, or agency relationship.
- Headings: Headings are for convenience and do not affect interpretation.
- Electronic communications: You agree that electronic notices and records satisfy legal requirements for written communications, subject to applicable law.
24. Contact and Support
Questions, rights complaints, account issues, and notices relating to these Terms may be submitted through the MediaDesk Support Page. Do not include sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for us to address your request.
